Department of Music Studies
The NKUA Department of Music Studies, with the participation of the Regional Directorate of Primary and Secondary Education of Attica, is organising an online study day on “STEAM practices in the school music classroom”, to be held on Saturday 8 November 2025 from 9:30–13:30. The event explores the possibilities and opportunities offered by the interdisciplinary STEAM approach to music education. It aims to present the theoretical framework connecting music with science, technology, engineering, the arts and mathematics, alongside examples of good practice and STEAM teaching scenarios for the school music classroom. Particular emphasis is placed on the use of artificial intelligence to create and design music education scenarios. Through talks, presentations and dialogue, the event aims to inspire a post-digital, multimodal and experiential music pedagogy responsive to the interests and needs of today's pupils. It is intended for music teachers at all educational levels and anyone interested in the topic.
