On Wednesday, December 13, 2023, representatives and mentors of El Sistema Greece presented a two-hour training program on the fundamental theoretical principles of the El Sistema program and the European program: Music for Active Citizenship: a Young Music Mentors Program (MAC). The aim is to leverage music education for the social inclusion of refugees and immigrants.

The seminar was co-organized by the Laboratories of Music Education and Music, Cognitive Sciences, and Community of the Department of Music Studies at the University of Athens. It was attended by undergraduate and postgraduate students of the department. The event took place in Room 917 of the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Athens, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
