Department of Music Studies
The Music Education Lab and the Music, Cognitive Sciences and Community Lab of the Department of Music Studies, NKUA, are honoured to host Dimitra Trypani, Associate Professor in the Department of Music Studies at the Ionian University, for the second year, on Friday 30 May, for an experiential workshop entitled “From Ear to Body – Acoustic Reboot Method”.
Dimitra Trypani's “From Ear to Body” Acoustic Reboot Method is intended for artists, teachers, students and professionals working with groups. It offers a comprehensive set of tools and techniques aimed at renewing auditory and rhythmic perception and introducing creative ways of incorporating sound and rhythm into interdisciplinary educational, social and artistic activities. Its practices connect hearing with the body, literally embodying sound so that sonic information can be decoded naturally and meaningfully through the carefully structured use of the voice, asymmetric rhythms, polyphony, polyrhythm and body percussion.
The workshop is intended for undergraduate and postgraduate students and doctoral candidates of the Department of Music Studies.
