Music in Early Childhood

The advancement of modern technological tools and applications enables us to know increasingly more information about our development from intrauterine life. Our auditory ability begins to develop as early as the second trimester of gestation, and research indicates that harnessing it after birth is crucial for a person's subsequent musical development.

This course will examine, among other things, issues related to the musical abilities of infants, the role of music in infancy (up to 30 months), music learning theory (musical receptivity, musical ability), characteristics of infant "songs" and their categories, designing activities for this age group, organizing music meetings for parents and infants, and the role of the educator/guide.
