Department of Music Studies

Through its members, the Music Education Lab participated in the European project TEAM (Erasmus+ Teacher Academies), which officially began on 15 June 2023.
The project TEAM received €1.5 million in funding. It aimed to develop a network for music in school education and initial and continuing music teacher education, promote mobility and create digital and other resources for the future of music education.
TEAM is a pan-European collaborative research network working closely with the European Association for Music in Schools – EAS. It aims to rethink initial and continuing music teacher education and music education in Europe, addressing music teachers' current needs for professional, digital and intercultural learning, a sustainable future and social cohesion.
The outputs of TEAM brought together the knowledge and findings generated through the project's research and were presented in a document containing curriculum proposals to support high-quality music education and music teacher education in European countries. The longer-term aim of TEAM is to develop and sustain a European music education network. Collaboration with European organisations in different countries supports the continuity and further development of this work.
According to TEAM's official retrospective, the consortium comprised thirteen institutions from eleven European countries. The associated partner network extended to twenty-four countries and included European and international music organisations.
TEAM was scheduled to run from June 2023 to May 2026. The University of Potsdam, Germany, was responsible for coordination.
