In the contemporary era of rapid growth and development, during which we are called upon to address constant changes and a constantly evolving landscape regarding the needs and data in arts education, and especially in Music, the Department of Music Studies at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens deemed it necessary to establish the Music Pedagogy Laboratory to meet the increased scientific, research, teaching, educational, and artistic demands related to the teaching and learning of Music.

Given the recent positive assessment of the Department, the continuously increasing mobility of its graduates, and the evolving requirements for the pedagogical training of future educators, the Music Pedagogy Laboratory emerges as a significant opportunity for the renewal of the Department's infrastructure in order to effectively respond to upcoming changes and elevate the level of education provided in the field of Music Pedagogy.
